Jen Olson To Be or Not To Be...Represented

Foreclosure properties are on the rise, and buyers are being told about all of the great deals they are going to get when buying a bank owned property. What buyers aren't being told is that not all foreclosure properties are created equal. I recently had someone ask why they need a buyer's agent when buying a foreclosure if it is being sold "as is". My answer was that especially when looking at foreclosure properties,

Bryant Tutas Effective Lead Generation

Are you ready? It's going to be complicated. My secret advice to agents about lead generation is to stop trying to figure it out and start doing it! It’s not so much what you do as it is that you do it. Be consistent. Wake up tomorrow morning and mail an expired listing letter to every expired/withdrawn in your market. Then get up every day thereafter and do the same thing. Do it forever. Then do the same thing for FSBOs and preforeclosures. Within about 90 days you will have a steady stream… Continue

Bryant Tutas Tools to help run your "virtual" office.

REALTORS(R) at Tutas Towne Realty all work from their homes. In order to be able to do this you must have the right tools. Requirements are: 1. Computer with printer/scanner 2. Smart phone 3. Fax machine or preferably an eFax (I recommend myfax.com) With out these bare minimum tools you will struggle working for a virtual Real Estate office. This is how I personally handle my business: I list Florida properties for sale witho… Continue

Bryant Tutas Working with FHA, VA and USDA buyers.

FHA Buyers, at least in my market, are normally placing the minimum amount down, 3.5%, and asking the Seller to pay 6% towards their closing costs. In a market where 87% of the sales are distressed properties, FHA Buyers, in the eyes of the Seller, are second class citizens.

It's not only difficult for FHA Buyers to find a property and get an offer accepted but....they pay more. That's right, the folks who can probabl

Bryant Tutas Will you have the knowledge to succeed in 2010?

Hi there. This article is about continued education. It’s my opinion, that in order to succeed at real estate you MUST be a student of real estate. Real estate has to be in your head and in your bones. ALWAYS. It has to be more than just a job. It must be a passion. The days of just throwing buyers in the car and selling them a house are over. This is not a temporary change in the market. It’s the new way of doing business. Buyers and Sellers alike are spending time searching for… Continue

Bryant Tutas Flexibility is a much needed attribute for success

A while back I called one of my fellow ActiveRainers. I did this because I had received an email and could tell this person was struggling a little in their business and needed some words of encouragement. So I called. Anyway, it seems discouragement was setting in because she was going on listing appointments but was losing them on pricing. Then they would list with another REALTOR® and after several months, and a few price reductions, the property would sell at close to the list price that sh… Continue

For any one wanting to work in real estate, as a career, generating business is the number one skill you must learn. First and foremost it requires work.
